What I’m Loving Lately

A while back, I shared a blog post about random things I was loving. You guys really liked it, so I thought I would share some of my current favorites with you that range from skincare, what I am reading, listening to, etc. I hope to make this more of a series for you guys, but thought I would share a few random things I have been loving lately today.

1. Fancy Water

I have never had a problem with drinking water until during quarantine. I usually run first thing in the morning and then teach my daily boot camp class in the evenings, but since I’ve been doing a longer at-home workout first thing in the morning, I tend to forget to drink water as the day goes on. So…to spice things up I’ve been adding all kinds of different things to my water to keep it interesting. My favorite combo has been lime, mint, and a few slices of cucumber. I also bought a huge water bottle that I carry around everywhere with me to make sure I am drinking up!

2. Peloton App

I have been a runner for many years, and have many different treadmill workouts I have created for clients when I used to be a personal trainer as well as workouts I created for myself to train for the different races I was working towards.

Sometimes your own treadmill workouts get old. I found myself struggling to get excited about the treadmill around April. I had been home for a month without any alone time…and just couldn’t wait to get my workout over with.

That’s when I decided to give the Peloton App a try. I love that I don’t have to think about my treadmill workouts now. I simply filter within the app to pick the right intensity, length, and workout I am looking for. It’s really fun to have someone else thinking of the workout and talking you through it. I also love the Boot Camp classes on the Peloton App because they are half treadmill half strength training!

3. Kut From The Kloth Jeans

If you are in the market for jeans that fit perfectly and feel incredible on, then you need to try this brand. I love the Diana Skinny Jeans and their boyfriend jeans are incredible. Buttery soft, the perfect amount of stretch, and create such amazing shape.

4. The Ordinary Products

#ThisIs30 but skincare is so dang important BUT can be expensive. My mom actually introduced me to The Ordinary products a few years ago, and I love them so much and the price tag is INCREDIBLE. Most of the time you can find their products for under $10.

I use so many of their products so I’ll list a few I use weekly and daily:

Retinol 0.5% in Squalane: this stuff helps with acne and wrinkles. I use 0.5% because it doesn’t try out your skin like the higher potency ones.

Niacinamide and Zinc: Great for helping to prevent acne and keep pores clean

Hyaluronic Acid and B5: This is great for moisturizing the skin and B5 is actually said to help prevent breakouts if you get hormonal ones during your time of the month.

Rosehip Seed Oil: I use this at the end of my skincare routine to lock in all the moisture

Salicylic Acid Mask: I use this once a week to keep my pores clean. If you are struggling with “mascne” this is said to really help

AHA & BHA Mask: I use this once a week to help get rid of all the dead skin. It leaves the skin so soft and smooth!

5. Anti Diet by Christy Harrison

I just started this book about a week ago, so I am only about fifty pages in so I will report back after I’m done with the book. But it’s been so eye opening to how we truly are living in such a ‘diet culture’. It’s everywhere we look, affecting decisions we’re making, foods we are eating, how we think about our bodies etc. I’m excited to keep diving into this one because I think it will give me a totally different perspective about body image and the culture that we live in today, in regards to food, health, and exercise.

7. Leopard Hat from Amazon

My husband always jokes with me that I have a hat for every season. In the summer I hide behind a big hat and oversized sunglasses because…WRINKLES… and more importantly, sun-safety. Don’t worry, he won’t be laughing when we are sixty 🙂

In the fall, I love a good felt hat and I found THE CUTEST ONE on Amazon that has a leopard belt/band detail. Some of these hats can be over $100 and this one rings in at about $15. You can thank me later.

So there ya go! Haha, such a random post but 7 random things I am loving right now! What do y’all think? Should this become a regular series?!
