I’ve been all over the place with life lately. Some weeks I feel like I am killing it. The laundry is done in a timely fashion, it even gets folded and put away. The house is miraculously spotless, I somehow manage to organize Lilly’s toys…then the next week it’s pure chaos. I can’t find Lilly’s shoes because they are hidden under a bed, the kitchen sink is a nightmare, the to-do list is never-ending. My personal goals, blog, life get pushed aside to help everyone else in my family. I know, I know…I signed up for this when I became a mom.

I know one day I will miss the sticky handprints and scattered toys. I will miss getting interrupted from work to go play tag or Barbies or princess dress-up. So for me, I try to let this life of being “all over the place” and the chaos of motherhood be something that I consciously appreciate. I want to look back on this time when my family was young and feel proud that I was present for it all, and didn’t miss out because something as small as doing dishes got in the way. But please bear with me if I don’t always post when promised. Like that time I promised I’d post this exact post two days ago…I guess the life lesson here is to never make empty promises!
There was a time in my life where I think I just rotated between polka dots and stripes (oh wait…that was last week). So there is no doubt that I will be abusing the polka dot trend this spring. Lilly even said to me when I pulled her dress out, “Ugh, polka dots, AGAIN, Mommy!?”.
These dresses are so much more than your average polka dot print though. Lilly’s has the cutest cold shoulder detail, and how cute are the ruffled bell sleeves on my dress!? Mine has Spandex in it making it the comfiest dress I may have ever owned. Lilly’s dress was a great steal. It’s Kate Spade, but I got it for a bargain on Nordstrom Rack (love that you can shop it online).
Now that I have (finally) finished this post, I am off to watch This Is Us, get a good cry in, and eat one too many Girl Scout cookies. Have a great evening, lovelies!
