The Perfect White Mountain Getaway to the Riverwalk Resort at Loon Mountain

The White Mountains hold a special place in my family’s heart. From fall foliage leaf peeping trips in the fall where we have hiked Franconia National Park to hitting the ski slopes at Loon Mountain or Bretton Woods, I always look forward to a chance to escape the hustle and bustle with a getaway to the White Mountains.

A few weeks ago, while on our New England Fall Trip (IYKYK), my husband and I had the opportunity to stay at the Riverwalk Resort at Loon Mountain. This resort is nestled in the heart of the White Mountains and offers top tier amenities and activities making it the perfect mountain getaway for families and couples alike.

Riverwalk Resort at Loon Mountain:

The Riverwalk Resort boasts a gorgeous pool and spa area that is open year round, an arcade, a fitness center that offers every piece of equipment you can imagine, a family area, and will eventually be a ski in/ski out resort with a gondola that will connect to Loon Mountain Resort. There are great restaurants offered right inside the resort, as well as a winery that grows their grapes and makes their wine and cider in house.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite and I was truly blown away by the layout, the kitchen, the bathroom, and especially the VIEW. I could have just sat on our balcony all day taking in the fall foliage. Our suite offered a master bedroom off the living room, as well as a pull-out sofa bed, and had enough room to easily fit a family of four.

A ski village is also in the works with a connected brewery, sushi restaurant, coffee shop, and tons of shops that can clothe even the pickiest skier, snowboarder, or hiker.

I was blown away by our whole experience at the Riverwalk Resort at Loon Mountain. I am already dreaming about bringing our kids back next winter to ski.

Seven Birches Winery:

Located inside the Riverwalk Resort, Seven Birches Winery offers wine and cider tastings and winery tours. The wine and cider are made in-house with grapes and fruit that is grown locally, and even on-property. I loved the ambiance of Seven Birches Winery, and my husband and I left with a few wines and ciders after our tasting because they were so good. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of the ski slopes or for a romantic fall date.

Rhythm & Tap Grille:

I am a huge fan of parking my car while on vacation and never having to use it until it’s time to head home. The Riverwalk Resort at Loon Mountain provides this experience. With two delicious restaurants located right inside the resort, you don’t even have to venture outside for a great meal or a quick beverage that includes a breathtaking view.

We had dinner at Rhythm & Tap Grille, and loved the environment, the inside/outside bar that offers great views and service, and the food was delicious. We split the crab dip as an appetizer, and I am still dreaming about it to this day. Rhythm & Tap Grille also offers a variety of the ciders and wine made by Seven Birches Winery. I kept thinking about what a great spot it would be for my family after a long day on the ski slopes!

Nestled in the Heart of the White Mountains:

Riverwalk Resort at Loon Mountain is the perfect location to some of Lincoln’s main attractions, like Franconia National Park, Loon Mountain Ski Resort, and Bretton Woods Ski Resort. We were able to hike at Franconia and take the gondola up Loon Mountain during our time there, both are fall foliage trip bucket list adventures!
