Mont Tremblant | Winter Guide for Families

Mont Tremblant Ski Trip | Family Trip to Mont Tremblant | Ski Trip to Quebec

If you think you have to travel out west for good skiing and a great winter getaway, think again. Mont Tremblant located in the Laurentian Mountains of Quèbec is the perfect combination of a ski-in, ski-out resort (with the best après ski vibes) that feels straight out of a European village. In fact, Tremblant has been named one of the best ski resorts in Eastern North America. Family-friendly, with an après ski culture, this French-inspired village and resort knows how to entertain on and off the ski slopes. So pack up your family, and your favorite skiwear and head to Tremblant to hit the slopes.

Family Vacation in Mont Tremblant:

The Ski Slopes and Mountain:

With almost 800 acres of skiable terrain, the mountain is nestled ideally above all of the ski-in/ski-out restaurants and hotels located at the base. There are 96 trails and 4 slopes with tons of options to blaze your own trail on off-piste terrain. There is also a ton of convenience offered on the slopes with a high-speed Gondola, amazing ski schools with wonderful instructors offering lessons for ages 3+, and three “bunny slopes” that include magic carpets. It is a great place for kids to learn to ski as well as convenient with great ski rentals and a ski valet located right at the bottom of the ski slopes.

The Village:

At the base of Mont Tremblant’s ski mountain is the most picturesque pedestrian village with cobblestone streets, European-inspired architecture, and numerous shopping, dining, and recreational options.  You can walk from one end to the other, or take the free cabriolet lift.  After skiing, we enjoyed taking the cabriolet to our hotel which made putting away our ski gear super convenient because it lets off right by the hotels. There is so much to do in the village. Below is a list of a few of my family’s favorite activities:

  • Make your own maple taffy at Cabanes a Sucre de la Montagne. My kids were obsessed with the maple candy on a stick that the shop owners make on snow!
  • Hit up brind’O Aqua Club for a fun indoor waterpark for the whole family that includes slides, sprinklers, water games, and several indoor/outdoor pools and hot tubs.
  • Bring your own stuffie to life at Univers toutou which is similar to the United State’s Build-A-Bear. My kids had so much fun picking, creating, and personalizing their “stuffies”.
  • Escape the cold and have fun playing virtual video games at Virtual Reality or test your wit at Escape Room!
  • Browse the toy store, candy store, and all of the other amazing shops Tremblant offers.

Outdoor Activities in Mont Tremblant:

Not a great skier? Not a problem. Tremblant offers a variety of fun outdoor activities that will still give you the Winter Getaway vibes without hitting the slopes.

  • Snow Tubing- ages 2+ can take advantage of this family-friendly activity
  • Zippy Sledding
  • Snow Shoeing
  • Horse-drawn sleigh ride (my kids loved this so much)
  • Dog sledding
  • Ice Skating
  • Ice Slides for kids
  • Scandinave Spa which is a collection of outdoor cold and hot Scandinavian-inspired pools that is only a five-minute drive away.

Where to Eat in Mont Tremblant:

The dining options are incredible and numerous in Mont Tremblant but here are a few of my family’s favorites:

  • Le Shack: the best ski-in, ski-out restaurant right at the base of the ski slopes with great food and the best après ski vibes.
  • SoCal Kitchen– great appetizers, and wonderful dishes. Try their fish of the day!
  • La Diable– microbrews that you will dream about forever with great casual faire!
  • Lucille’s– there is something delicious for everyone on the menu at Lucille’s from raw oysters and seafood pasta to steak and burgers
  • Chocolato– delicious chocolate desserts. My kids needed a treat every night after dinner
