Lilly Pulitzer’s After Party Sale | September 2019

Happy Sunday, Lovelies!

Mondays aren’t so bad when they mean THE BEST SALE OF THE YEAR! If you have been following along for a while now, you know my love of Lilly Pulitzer runs deep. My wedding and baby shower were even inspired by my favorite brand and the bright and colorful prints.

Since this sale is one of my favorites to shop and quite unique to any other sales, I thought it would be a great idea to share my top tips and tricks to help you shop with ease!

Lilly Pulitzer’s After Party Sale starts tomorrow! It is only one of TWO sales they hold throughout the year and the prices cannot be beat. I typically stock up on matching dresses for Lilly and me during this time because a $200 dress usually is discounted to somewhere around $58. I mean…WOW!

When Does the APS Start?

The After Party Sale starts tomorrow, September 9th at 8:00 AM

What is the After Party Sale?

• The APS is Lilly Pulitzer’s semi-annual sale. The company doesn’t mark-down products on sale throughout the year. Instead, they host TWO incredible sales. One at the end of summer and one in January.
• This makes the prices beyond incredible and worth shopping.

What goes on sale?

• Usually last year’s prints and pieces (ranging from kids to luxeletic wear to dresses). They even sometimes include special or limited edition inventory. I will share what I love to shop on the sale below.

What are the prices like?

• You will see shift dresses decreased to as low as $29 or $39. Even the fancier ones can be bought for under $70! For kids, you can find pieces as low as $29 for the dresses. Like I said above, this is the time to buy those mommy and me matching Lilly dresses!

How does the sale work?

• Lilly Pulitzer always has several organized precautions the make to ensure there are no site crashes or inventory issues. The major way they prevent this is with a virtual line.
• The Virtual Line: When you head over to Lilly Pulitzer’s website tomorrow, you will be placed in a “virtual line”. This is to ensure that the website is working correctly and that everyone is given a chance to shop the sale. You might receive a high number but don’t worry, the line moves quickly.
• Be sure to have your computer, tablet or phone turned on because it typically will make a sound when it is your time to shop.
• Pro Tip: If possible, try to be on Lilly’s site promptly at 8:00 AM.

Why should I set up an account?

It is best to set-up an account on Lilly Pulitzer’s website the day before the sale to ensure a smooth checkout. Since inventory goes quickly, by the time you enter all of this information (address, e-mail, payment info) one of the pieces in your cart may be gone. Make it easy on yourself by setting up an account prior to the sale.

How do I get a good spot in the Virtual Line?

Make sure to log-in to your Lilly Pulitzer account on their website promptly at 8:00 AM on September 9th. You will see a number pop up on your screen. That is your number in the virtual line. DO NOT REFRESH YOUR BROWSER. This will only push you back in the virtual line!

Also please note, 8:00 AM isn’t always an ideal time for some people to shop the sale. In fact, I will be on my way to drop my daughter off at preschool during that time. DO NOT WORRY, there will be lots of sale items left AND one thing I love about Lilly Pulitzer’s sale is that they add inventory throughout the sale, SO, I promise you will be able to snag something special!

Can I use multiple devices?

YES! You can use anything from a laptop to an internet-enabled device like a cell phone or tablet!

Why should I know my size?

All purchases from the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale are FINAL. They have a great system that you can use prior to the sale to help you determine your sizes. I also highly recommend reading the reviews of the pieces before purchasing because they are very helpful in deciding what size to choose. For example, I sized-up for a shift dress this year and down for a knit swing dress thanks to the reviews I read. Both fit perfectly!

How to shop the sale:

I typically will filter the sale right away. My first stop is usually to shop for my daughter so I filter her size immediately. If I want to find a matching outfit for myself, I will then filter using the print, style, and size I need. That way I am not searching through thousands of pieces of inventory.

Act fast:

I typically create a “game-plan” based off of my budget for the sale. This year it looks like this:

• Two Mommy and Me Dresses
• Luxeletic Leggings
• Luxeletic Top

I make sure to cross those off my list and check-out as quickly as possible. Since sale items go fast, you aren’t guaranteed the items in your “shopping cart”. So if there is a piece you have been coveting forever, be sure to buy it ASAP. Shipping is free so you can always head back to the virtual line after you check out to casually browse after you have bought the pieces you really, REALLY wanted.

Ordering + Shipping:

In the past, it might take a while to receive order and shipping information.

• A few hours after your purchase you will receive an order confirmation
• Your order will say “processing” while it’s getting ready to ship.
• You will receive a confirmation once your order is shipped.

Be a Lilly Sister:

One thing that is often sad to see is a ton of people will buy sale items they don’t even want just to mark the prices up and sell on eBay or Poshmark days later.

Think about the moms who are dying to match their daughters but don’t want to spend the money on full-priced Lilly items or the college girl who is hoping to buy a dress she has been eyeing up for her fall formal.
