Family Spring Pictures

Over the past few years, our family has only been able to squeeze in family Christmas pictures for our annual Christmas card. I cherish those pictures so much, but they are very seasonal and something that I can’t always keep hanging on my walls year round since they are very “Christmasy”.

With baby boy due in a month (tomorrow…but who’s counting), I knew I wanted to take some special spring pictures with our family, while I still had a baby bump! I am definitely not one of those women who “glows” during pregnancy. I feel so blessed to be pregnant, but am often harsh on myself and my changing baby and forget to appreciate what my body is doing during this process!

When I was pregnant with Lilly, I avoided the camera. I regret not having more pictures during my pregnancy with her now, so I knew that a maternity/spring family photo session was a definite must this pregnancy.

We love working with Mariah Fisher Photography! She always captures our family so beautifully. Family pictures are chaotic. The kids are always on a whole new level of “energetic”, and something always seems to go wrong (at least in our case). Since Mariah has worked with us, she has had to deal with our dog, Maggie, peeing on her boot out of excitement, Lilly showing up with a black eye due to walking into a door knob the day before pictures…

…and this time….Lilly lost her front top tooth minutes before we had to take pictures, blood was everywhere, she kept slurping as she smiled due to the new missing tooth…it was a hot mess…but when I look at these pictures, I would never be able to tell how much of a mess it really was.

Mariah is amazing, and if you are local, BOOK HER!

These pictures are just what I was hoping for when I thought spring family/maternity pictures. The cherry blossoms were blooming, and Mariah captured our family so well. I can’t wait to have these pictures hanging as a gallery wall on our staircase!

I also knew I didn’t want the pictures to be too over-the-top maternity, and Mariah was so great at capturing my growing bump without making the whole session about that. I felt like it was perfectly woven into the family pictures we took!

I posted one of the pictures from our session on Instagram last week, and my message DMs were blown up with questions about our outfits.

We all wore blue in honor of baby boy! I can’t wait until we can include him in family pictures…and our daily crazy life!

I hope you enjoyed these pictures! I will be sharing a 36 week “Bumpdate” tomorrow so stay tuned!

xoxo,

Kalyn
