Happy Friday, Lovelies!
Last year I polled my followers on Instagram to see what kind of holiday tips they wanted me to share with them, and the main one was how to style family holiday looks for events, holiday photos, etc. Today I thought I would share some examples of a few of my favorite family looks that I styled for my own fam to give you a little inspiration.

Outfit Details:
It’s hard to find pieces that match perfectly, or hard to pick what colors to even start with. One small tip is to pick two to three coordinating colors that your family can wear together. If you don’t want to be overly matching, make sure each person “staggers” the colors you pick. For example, in the picture above, our colors were red, green, and grey. We also threw in the red tartan plaid. So as you can see-each person is wearing a different outer color, so if we stand next to one another, we don’t clash/blend in with one another.

Outfit Details:
Last year’s Christmas pictures, we decided to stagger two different plaids. Alex and I wore red tartan plaid with contrasting outerwear and Lilly and our dog, Maggie wore a white plaid. I love how the outfits looked next to one another.
This year for our holiday pictures we are going with a blackwatch plaid (show below). We are all actually wearing some plaid in our looks this year, and I am excited to see how the pictures turn out!

Blackwatch Plaid:
This is the plaid we will be using for our family holiday pictures this year! I love it paired with a pop of red color or toned down with dark green, grey, and navy!
Fair Isle:
Who doesn’t love a festive fair isle sweater!? Alex has quite the collection of them at this point-they can be super loud or more subtle depending on the print you go for-I love that they add the perfect amount of holiday fun to every look! You can wear matching ones with your family, or coordinate by colors!
Tartan Plaid:
This is probably my favorite holiday plaid! I often have to talk myself out of purchasing yet ANOTHER tartan plaid style for my wardrobe. It’s such a great classic and works well as a fall wardrobe staple too!
Stewart Plaid:
Did you know the different names for the plaid stems from the deep history of Irish clans? Pretty cool right!? Look up the history of your favorite plaid-you might be surprised to find out why you love it so much! Another great holiday plaid is Stewart plaid. It’s easy to wear casually or dress up.
