Apple Picking in the Fall
Since Lilly could barely walk, our family has loved going apple picking in the fall. Apple picking has to be one of our family’s favorite fall traditions. It has been so much fun watching our kids grow and change every year. Lilly used to be afraid to brave the ladder but now she’s an apple picking expert and fills our buckets in no time.
Last year, Lane just went along with the apple-picking experience, but this year, he had the greatest time trying to keep up with his big sister!
But, chasing after Lilly can be exhausting, so after a few trees, Lane decided that eating the apples that Lilly picked was a much better idea.

I am pretty sure Lane ate two whole apples by himself during the hour it took for us to pick the apples.
If you are local to the Pittsburgh area, our favorite place to go apple picking is Norman’s Orchard in Tarentum, PA. I almost hate sharing it because it is a true gem and never overcrowded. The owners are so nice and have a home on the property along with a small barn where they sell pre-picked apples and grapes from.
Lane also loved sharing his apples with us, and it was the cutest thing ever. I wish I was able to get more pictures of him in action.
When we got home from apple picking, Lilly and I made a delicious gluten-free apple crisp! Here is the recipe below:
Happy first week of fall! I hope you had a great weekend with your family!
xoxo,
Kalyn
