Baby Essentials for On The Go
When I first gave birth to Lilly, I didn’t want to leave the house. It felt overwhelming to think about all of the logistics involved in leaving home even for a few hours. The diaper bag, the carseat, the stroller…
I eventually forced myself to get over it and quickly developed a system that got us out the door quickly and I ALMOST never forgot things…except when I really needed them…but tis life.
When I was pregnant with Lane, I was determined to make sure that after giving birth, that I would make summer as fun as possible for our whole family, but mostly for Lilly. So I started doing my research on baby items that could help elongate our stay at the pool, park, etc. while keeping Lane safe and happy…and my sanity in check.
Today I am sharing my favorite Baby Essentials for when you and your family are on the go.
Baby Essentials for On The Go:
- Doona Carseat Stroller– Guys this is a gamechanger. I remember lugging our heavy carseat around everywhere with Lilly. I was part of a moms group and I still remember trying to carry a heavy breakfast casserole in one hand while carrying the heavy carseat in the other. I knew this time I needed a change, and when I came across the Doona…I knew it was it. In literal seconds with the push of a button this carseat changes into a stroller, it’s super easy to control and even the nurses at the hospital were blown away by it when we took Lane home in it. It’s the real deal and quite affordable compared to other infant carseat/stroller systems (You know, the ones that you have to attach the carseat to the stroller).
- ComfyBumpy Infant Seat– This is a dupe for the more popular BabyBJORN one but let me tell you…Amazon reviews do not lie and so many of them say this one is actually easier to use and better than the main brand one! I love this because it collapses flat and comes with a carrying case that includes a strap!
- Fisher Price Baby Dome– If you have plans to go to the beach this summer, buy this! I wish we had had it when Lilly was little because I think we spent maybe three total hours at the beach the first time we took her at six weeks old due to the sand blowing in her face. This dome folds up, is easy to carry, has mesh sides that keeps out sand but allows a breeze, and provides UPF sun protection. We have been using this at the park, the pool, and on our patio all summer long.
- Ergobaby Omni Breeze Carrier– I use this daily, at the pool, on walks, around the house. I love how easy this carrier is to use, and that it has AirFlow technology to keep you and baby cool.
- Changing Pad Clutch– Don’t feel like bringing a diaper bag? Bring this instead! I put one of these in our pool bag and love that it has pockets to put diapers and wipes making changing diapers a breeze while on the go!
- St. Anne Diaper Bag– I love a diaper bag that doesn’t look like a diaper bag. This one from Barrington Gifts can be customized a bunch of different ways to fit the season, or style you are going for. Plus it has so many awesome pockets inside to keep everything organized.
- Portable Fan– I love this one that you can recharge using a USB cable. It keeps baby cool and can attach to strollers, carseats, etc.
- Baby Shusher– A great portable white noise machine that wil put baby right to sleep
Now that we’ve covered the essentials…you better get going! You and baby have places to be, people to meet, and sights to see!
