End Of Summer Bucket List
My blog has been silent this summer. Part of me feels this pull to write daily and even though I haven’t been posting much on my site, I still have been doing quite a bit for the blog the past few months. I took summer as a time to focus on family. Working two jobs and side hustling the blog is a lot sometimes. The last thing I want is to make any of those things a priority over Lilly and the time I get to spend with her as she grows, so I intentionally took this summer off to look away from my laptop and phone and look directly at her. Who she is now, at four years old. What she loves, what she is afraid of, and soak it all in because I know this time is precious.
The blog will be here tomorrow. My four-year-old won’t be. I never want to look back on this time with her and wish that I had spent more time focused on her. With that being said, as much as I will mourn the end of summer, I am excited about the new season ahead, our routines falling back into place and all of the fun that will be had in the new, fresh school year. I have been working on several projects and brainstorming a lot of creative ideas that I can’t wait to share with you all.
But before the fleeting days of summer are over, I wanted to share with you the last of my family’s summer bucket list. Let’s dive in:
- Go berry picking and make a homemade pie with our finds
- Take Maggie (our dog) swimming at a lake
- Visit the local farmer’s market as many times as we can
- Have a campfire and eat too many s’mores
- Ride our bikes along the local trail
- Spend as much time poolside as possible
- Go mini golfing
- Plan a picnic
- Eat too much ice cream
- Take the scenic route
- Watch the sunset
- Catch fireflies
- Run barefoot in the grass
- Make homemade lemonade
- Eat watermelon in the shape of smiles
- Ride a rollercoaster
We have had such a great summer and have spent most days outside soaking in every last bit of sunshine. Skin cancer runs in my family and Lilly is naturally fair-skinned like her dad. When we spend long days outside I worry about protecting her from the sun. There is no denying I love rashguard sets for Lilly, and hope she is never too cool to wear them. They keep her safe in the sun and allow us to stay out for longer without any worry.
One of my absolute favorite swim brands is SwimZip. I love how easy these rashguard sets are to get on and off. They are UPF 50+ and carry suits of all varieties for every member of your family (not to mention adorable MATCHING suits)! I can’t get over how much I have worn mine this summer. It is great for days at the beach when you are starting to feel like you are getting too much sun. Lilly LOVES that she gets to match me in my rashguard. Now I can be as cool as she is when we twin in ours!
How cute is the print of these adorable rashguards? There were so many cute suits to chose from, I am most definitely grabbing a few more for our upcoming cruise in January! Be sure to checkout SwimZip for easy sun protection for every member of your family!
Have a great start to your week!
xoxo,
Kalyn
