Brooks Brothers: Behind The Pink Shirt
In honor of their 200th anniversary on April 7th, Lilly and I have teamed up with one of my favorite brands, Brooks Brothers, to share a bit of fun history.
In the 1940’s Brooks Brothers’ pink oxford shirt started selling out in the smallest sizes across the country due to a surge in interest and success among women.
In August 1949, Brooks Brothers teamed up with Vogue magazine to create a pink oxford that honored the original but was tailored for women. Upon the release of the August 1949 Vogue issue, the women’s shirt sold out immediately.
This was a defining moment for the Brooks Brothers brand as they realized that women were also identifying with their emerging Ivy League look.
Current day, Brooks Brothers continues their legacy of timeless and classic fashion by offering the same high quality and tailored fits that have held true to their brand for 200 years.

Their women and kids lines are among my favorites for Spring 2018. Take a peek at them here.
A special thank you to Brooks Brothers for sponsoring this post
I am honored to have the opportunity to work with a brand that I have adored and believed in for many years. On behalf of Lilly and I, we want to congratulate Brooks Brothers on a successful 200 years. Here’s to 200 more!
