Color Block Sweater
It’s a rare occasion that I actually get to sit down and watch TV, but as a long time fan of The Bachelor, I had the current season on last night as I was catching up on some e-mails. I can’t even tell you what happened last night. I’m not sure if it was the fact that the episode was so boring (I hate all the girl drama stuff) or if I was just too preoccupied with other things, but guys, for the first time ever, I had to turn it off.
Luckily, “Legally Blonde” was on and kept me entertained.
I am partial to the part of the movie where Elle is told by multiple sources that she is “not enough”. Not smart enough, not worthy enough to be with Warner, too pretty to be in law school. Instead of calling it quits, she develops this can-do, watch me prove you wrong, girl power attitude.
Something I have been trying to work on with Lilly is that even if you fail, keep trying. Even when you are frustrated, keep trying. It’s a great reminder for us all, even as adults. It’s easy to give up, but how rewarding is it when you achieve those goals you never imagined possible?
Who knew “Legally Blonde” had so much depth to it!? I’ll be honest, Elle Woods is my inspiration for the week.
Color Blocking
This week, I am going to be sharing with you all a few of my favorite trends of the season. As we approach Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be fun to start with color blocking. There used to be an old-school fashion law that stated that you can’t pair pink with red. I am here to tell you that is out the window, and pairing burgundy with blush or a cherry red with a ballet pink is not only allowed but very popular right now.
Several of these pieces would make great Valentine’s Day gifts as well. I am obsessed with the pom pom color block hat and scarf from Kate Spade!
Happy Tuesday, lovelies! May we all be a bit like Elle Woods today.
xoxo,
Kalyn
Everything about this is so Elle Woods, love it!
