Lilly thinks I’m cool. I am not sure how many times I will get to say that in my life, so I am going to say it again. Lilly thinks I’m a cool mom. Today I got her ready for preschool, set her up with her favorite breakfast, and quickly threw on an outfit (overalls and the same striped shirt I wore all week to be exact), and sprayed my favorite perfume on. When I walked back into our kitchen, Lilly came up to me wrapped her arms around me and said, “Mama you look so pretty in overalls and you SMELL SO GOOD!”. She then insisted on using my perfume (I apologize to her teachers because she smells like a teenage locker room now).
Kids are so special. Parts of me that I feel insecure about, Lilly loves. She doesn’t care if I am in sweatpants or a fancy dress, she loves me because I am her mom. Just like I love her in an indescribable way because she’s my daughter. Lilly makes me feel like I am a superhero. I want to be the best person I possibly can be because of her. It’s amazing how such a little person can impact you in such a great way and bring so much light into your life.
