Lilly Pulitzer has always been a favorite brand of mine. I love the classic styles of dresses that are brought to life by fun, iconic and colorful prints. Lilly is my go to when reaching for the perfect summer outfit. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that I LOVE matching with my daughter, Lilly (name coincidence? I think not!). About the Sale
Unlike other retailers that place items on sale monthly, Lilly Pulitzer only has TWO sales yearly: one in August and one in January. Because of their selectivity of sales, the prices are downright amazing. When people ask me about Lils’ and my matching dresses, I am always sure to tell them about the sales because I literally buy six dresses for the price of two!
Sale tips
Lilly Pulitzer started something called the “virtual line” a few years ago to prevent site crashes and to allow everyone a chance to grab some sale pieces. When you arrive at the site, you will be given a place in line, and an estimated wait time before it’s your turn to shop. Once you are in, you can shop until you check out. If you go back to the sale after checking out, you will be placed in the virtual line again.

Make sure your account is set-up or updated with your current billing and shipping information. You can also add a credit card or link your Paypal account to make sure your checkout is as quick as possible
Remember the start time, 8:00 AM ET
I always have my browser linked up to Lilly Pulitzer’s site a few minutes before the sale starts and keep hitting refresh until I am placed in the virtual line.
If you can’t log on to the sale right at 8:00 AM, don’t sweat it, I have found great steals in the past even without being able to shop the sale right when it starts.
Shop on multiple devices
I shop the sale via the app on my phone, and on my laptop. That way I am able to have two options in the virtual line.
Filter your search by size, category, and print
As soon as I am able to get onto the sale site, I filter my search options to Lilly and my sizes, the categories I want to search for, and my favorite prints. To find what I am looking for with ease.
Speed Shop
Just because a piece is in your cart doesn’t mean it’s yours. Sizes and popular prints go quickly so be sure to make decisions quickly and check out (which is also why having your account information set up is so important).

Be Respectful
Something that upsets me about the sale is that people buy a ton of sale pieces only to turn around and sell them on sites like eBay or Poshmark at regular price. Think about the young girl who can only afford to buy that coveted Lilly dress when it’s on sale, or the mom who just wants to buy a few things for her daughter, or the shopper who is just trying to find a good deal.
Shop other retailers
Zappos and Nordstrom’s always discount Lilly Pulitzer sale pieces the days of the sale, if you can’t find a specific print on the Lilly Pulitzer site, try either of these!
Signature Stores
All the Lilly Pulitzer signature stores offer After Party Sale pieces too, and many have excellent websites you can shop. If I am trying to find a dress for Lilly that matches one I found on the APS, I will browse through the signature store sites to see if I can find it.
