Family Travel: Our Reunion Resort Escape in Kissimmee, FL

Last weekend, my family had the chance to escape the bitter Pennsylvania winter to warm up at the beautiful Reunion Resort located in Kissimmee, Florida.

Family comes first at the Reunion Resort, and we felt that throughout our entire trip. From amazing pools, a water park complete with a lazy river, to delicious family-friendly meals, today we are sharing our Family Travel Guide to this special resort!

Where To Stay:

The options are endless as far as where to stay on the Reunion Resort property. We opted for a Villa and it was perfect. It included three bedrooms, three full baths, and a full kitchen. We had a great furnished patio that had views of one of the three golf courses, The Palmer Course. Alex and I loved enjoying our morning coffee on the patio. (Alex is already planning his next golf trip to Reunion Resort after watching all the golfers on the course.)

What to Do:

The Water Park:

Enjoy a leisurely ride down the lazy river, make a splash on one of the water slides, play lawn games, or enjoy a cold beverage or lunch at The Grille! The Water Park was a family favorite. There was something for everyone.

The Cove at Seven Eagles:

Looking for a more relaxing experience than the Water Park? Head to The Cove at Seven Eagles pool. With a gradual entry pool, two hot tubs, and bocce ball, every member of the family will have a great time. You can also order great lunches at the Cove and have them delivered to you pool-side!

Mini Golf:

We had a blast playing Reunion Resort’s Mini Golf Course! I managed to get a hole in one which I take great pride in because it is actually a rather challenging and fun course! We loved the Mini Golf Course so much we played it twice!

Golf:

Reunion Resort has three gorgeous golf courses designed by famous golfers Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson. . If you are looking for a place for your next golf trip, this should be it!

Golf Cart Rentals:

Since we knew we would be staying on Reunion Resort property during our trip, we opted to Uber to and from the Reunion Resort, and rent a golf cart to get around the property instead of renting a typical rental car. As many of you know, we go to Bald Head Island every summer, and the only vehicles on the island are golf carts, so this was the perfect way to make our trip extra special!

Bike Rentals:

If you want a more active trip, the Reunion Resort also offers Bike Rentals for a fun and more personalized experience!

Tennis and Pickleball:

I always tell Alex that when I retire, I want to get really good at Pickleball! You can tell that Tennis and Pickleball are a big part of the culture at Reunion Resort. Both sports are fun for every level of expertise and are such a great way to bring your family together!

Head to a Theme Park:

Reunion Resort offers transportation to and from Walt Disney World as well as the option to purchase tickets at the resort!

Where to Eat:

The Clubhouse:

Every morning we took our golf cart out for a spin and ended up at The Clubhouse that overlooks The Palmer golf course. They offered the most amazing breakfast buffet. From french toast and pancakes to delicious pastries, homestyle eggs, sausage, bacon, and fresh fruit…the spread was amazing! I wish every breakfast could look like their buffet line-up! During the week they offer a delicious menu! Lilly says to try their pancakes!

The Cove Bar & Grille:

The Cove offered a great selection of salads, sandwiches, snacks, and smoothies. They also have a great poolside bar with daily drink specials. I had a great Ceasar salad, and I think eating it poolside in the middle of February made it taste even better!

Grande Lobby Sushi Bar:

We ate at the sushi bar twice during our stay at Reunion Resort. The sushi was delicious. I always judge a sushi restaurant by its spicy tuna roll, and theirs was THE BEST. I am still dreaming about it! The Grande Lobby Sushi Bar is open on certain days and not only offers sushi, but a full bar, and other menu options. Lilly got macaroni and cheese while Alex and I ate sushi!

7593 Chophouse:

We were lucky enough to sneak in a reservation for the Chophouse at the Reunion Resort on Valentine’s Day. Their menu did not disappoint. The calamari appetizer was amazing and I loved that they had a special Valentine’s Day menu you could pick from as well. We ordered a delicious chocolate cake to-go for dessert. It was so beautifully presented that it was almost sad to eat it…but we did not hesitate when we got back to our Villa!

Traditions:

For a more casual dining experience, we spent our last night at Traditions. They had everything from seafood risotto to more casual sandwiches. Everyone enjoyed their meal at Traditions. We also couldn’t leave without trying their key lime pie that was delicious!

What To Pack:

It is no secret that my entire family loves Cabana Life. We were so thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with one of our very favorite brands for this travel guide. Every beach or summer vacation, you will find Cabana Life in our suitcases. I love their resort-ready styles that are as functional as they are pretty.

From gorgeous prints and details to the UPF sun-safety that is included in each style-I love that my family looks polished as we transition from the beach or pool to a nicer dinner without having to worry about changing. Cabana Life styles also give me a great peace-of-mind. Lilly loves their rash guards, and I love that she is protected from the sun for many more hours than what just a few layers of sunscreen could provide.

I also love how breathable, wrinkle-resistant, and soft their fabrics are. You can truly LIVE in this brand; which is something that is essential to this busy mom!

Men’s Packing Guide:

Alex always brings several pairs of swim trunks, matching rash guards (both from Cabana Life), polos, chino shorts, a hat or two, and a pair of sunglasses!

Women’s Packing Guide:

I usually bring two or three swimsuits: a one piece, a bikini, and a rash guard for late afternoon sun. I also bring several cover-ups, a sundress or two, a floppy hat to keep my face covered from the sun, a pair of sunglasses and sandals!

Girls’ Packing Guide:

Lily loves Cabana Life’s rash guard sets. She has several that come with bottoms or a full one-piece bathing suit that can be worn with or without a rash guard. She also loves their terry cover-ups! I always make sure to bring several matching cover-ups or dresses to match my styles. I love that Cabana Life offers matching styles!

Why The Reunion Resort?

We love places where we don’t have to leave the property. I think traveling to and from different locations often takes away from the vacation itself. I love that Reunion Resort provided everything we could have wanted and needed. From amazing restaurants, endless activities, a beautiful Villa to enjoy, and a golf cart for transportation, we really got to focus on having fun as a family instead of worrying about logistics. I loved that. From the Water Park to our more formal dinner at The Chophouse, there was something fun for everyone. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay long enough! If you are planning a family trip to Florida soon, be sure to check out the Reunion Resort.
